April 8: Made his Greek Super League debut in the Olympiacos 4-0 defeat of Skoda Xanthi at home.

September 21: Scored his first Greek Super League goal for Olympiakos in the 4-0 defeat of Akratitos at home.
2006
April: Helps Olympiakos Piraeus to win its ninth Greek league title in 10 years and 34th overall.
August 11: Signed a four-year contract extension with Olympiakos.
September 10: Chelsea are reported to be tracking Olympiakos ace Nery Alberto Castillo.
2007
April 22: Member of the Olympiakos Piraeus squad that won their tenth league title in 11 years.
June 2: Made his debut with Mexico against Iran. The game was held in his hometown San Luis Potosi and, with an important performance from him, the Mexican National Team won 4-0, and Nery received a warm welcome by the fans.
June 8: Scored his first goal for the Mexican team in Mexico's first game of the 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup against Cuba.
June 24: Member of the Mexican team that lost the Gold Cup final against the USA (1-2) in an entertaining final.
June 27: In his debut at the Copa América 2007, Castillo scored a spectacular goal to help Mexico to a 2-0 win over Brazil. He took a pass, juggled the ball over the head of a Brazilian defender, and struck a left-footed full volley of the juggled ball into the net.
July: Represented Mexico in the Copa America of Venezuela. He helped the Tricolores to finish 3rd and was also included in the "Dream Team" of the competition.
July 27: Put up for sale after new contract talks with Olympiakos broke down. He rejected a revised four-year deal worth one million euros per year -- a 100 percent increase in wages.
July 31: FC Shakhtar Donetsk signed Nery Alberto Castillo from Olympiacos CFP for a fee of €20m.
December 14: Joined on loan to English Premier League side Manchester City after a failed attempt to adapt at Ukraine's Shakhtar Donetsk.
2008
January 5: Made his Man City debut in the 0-0 away draw at West Ham. Castillo started the match and was substituted in the 72nd minute by Gelson.
