October 25: Chinese twins Sun Xiang and Sun Ji have secured a two-week trial with PSV Eindhoven, the club announced.
2007
January 9: Shanghai Shenhua turned down an offer from PSV Eindhoven to take Sun Xiang on a six-month loan.
January 11: Sun Xiang begged to be allowed to leave Shanghai Shenhua for PSV. "I have made my decision -- go," he told the midweek edition of Titan Sports newspaper. "I'll be very sad if I can't go. If Shenhua wants to force my body to stay, it should also keep my heart."
January 12: PSV confirmed that Sun has joined the club on loan from Shanghai Shenhua with a view to a permanent move.
February 17: Became the first Chinese player to compete in the Dutch Eredivisie when he appeared as a left back in PSV's match against Heracles Almelo.
February 20: Became the first Chinese player to compete in the UEFA Champions League when he came on 66 minutes into PSV Eindhoven 1-0 victory against Arsenal.
April 29: Member of the PSV Eindhoven squad that won the Dutch league title on goal difference. In a thrilling finale, PSV finished on 75 points with a goal difference of plus 50 while Ajax also ended on 75 points but with a goal difference of plus 49.
May 15: PSV Eindhoven decided not to take up their option of signing Sun Xiang with his loan spell from Shanghai Shenhua about to expire.
July: Represented China in the AFC Asian Cup. He was part of the team that was eliminated in the first round of the competition.

July 2: Joined FK Austria on a reported one-year contract, as the first Chinese player to represent an Austrian Bundesliga club.
