At the age of 15 Eduardo moved to the Croatian capital city of Zagreb and joined Dinamo Zagreb, one of the country's top clubs.
1999-2000
Spent two seasons at Brazilian club Bangu Atletico Clube and returned to Dinamo for the 2001-02 season.
2004
November 16: Made his international debut at A-team level as a second-half substitute in Croatia's friendly match against the Republic of Ireland.
2006
May: Helps Dinamo Zagreb to win Croatian league title.
July: Helps Dinamo Zagreb to win their third Croatian Super cup beating HNK Rijeka 4 - 1.
August 16: Under the new national team coach, Slaven Bilić, he was a starting player in Croatia's friendly match against Italy in Livorno, also scoring the first goal in Croatia's 2-0 victory.
October 01: In the duel between the two biggest Croatian teams Dinamo Zagreb and Hajduk Split the Brazilian striker with Croatian passport entered Hajduk Split's box and caused panic among the home side defenders. Since he was brought down before he was able to try out his luck, Kovacic pointed to the white spot for the second time, this time in favor of Dinamo. The guests made an unconventional move, and chose Da Silva to take out the penalty kick, a responsibility that the Brazilian gladly took and shook Vladimir Balic's net for 1:1.
October 11: he scored the first goal in the Euro 2008 qualifier against England, contributing to Croatia's 2-0 victory, it was a looping header over the stranded Paul Robinson.
November 15: After scoring a hat-trick as Croatia won 4-3 in Israel to seize control of UEFA EURO 2008 qualifying Group E, the Brazilian-born forward played down his heroics. "I was just doing my job," he said. Eduardo scored in the 39th, 54th and 72nd minutes to help Croatia to their third victory in the group and inflict a first competitive defeat on Israel since they lost at home to France in April 2003.

March 24: Scored winning goal two minutes from time as Croatia came from behind to claim three points and stay top of Group E with a 2-1 win against ten-man F.Y.R. Macedonia.
May 02: Eduardo has agreed a ten-year contract extension with Dinamo Zagreb, keeping him until 2017.
April 28: Member of the Dinamo Zagreb squad that retained their Croatian league title with four games to spare. It was their ninth title since Croatia gained independence from the former Yugoslavia in 1991.
May 09: In the first leg of the Croatian Cup final Eduardo da Silva converted a 76th-minute penalty after he was brought down by Srebrenko Posavec to give Dinamo the edge ahead of the return leg on May 26.
July 2: Arsenal FC moved quickly to replace Thierry Henry after agreeing a deal to sign NK Dinamo Zagreb striker Eduardo da Silva for an undisclosed fee thought to be a Croatian record. "I am sad to leave," said Da Silva. "But I'm happy too, since Arsenal are one of the biggest clubs in the world."
August 2: Celebrated the granting of his work permit by scoring in his debut for Arsenal, a 2-1 friendly win over Lazio in Amsterdam.

2008
February 23: Sufferred an horrific double compound fracture of his left leg in Arsenal's Premier League match at Birmingham. Eduardo was clattered by Martin Taylor's lunging tackle just moments after kick off at St Andrews. Taylor was sent off but the Brazilian-born Croatian needed more than eight minutes of treatment for what looked to be a serious ankle problem before being carried off on a stretcher. Arsenal's players were visibly upset by an injury, with several unable to look at Eduardo. The television network broadcasting the match live in England refused to show replays because the injury was so horrendous.
2009
February 16: Said he had "the best day of his life" after he scored twice on his competitive comeback from a horrific leg injury in the Gunners' 4-0 FA Cup fourth-round replay victory against Cardiff City AFC.
