1971 Born September 1 in Adapazar?, Sakarya, Turkey. 2006 October 11: Hakan Sukur scored four times - including a hat-trick in eight minutes - to take his international goal tally to 50 as Turkey crushed Moldova 5-0 in their Euro 2008 Group C qualifier. 2007 September 2: Galatasaray legend Hakan Sukur became the all-time top scorer in the Turkish top flight after netting his 241st career strike against Manisaspor. His 66th minute strike against Vestel Manisaspor took him to 241 career goals in the top flight, and finally lifted him above Tanju Colak's old record of 240. 2008 May 10: Turkey coach Fatih Terim named an inital 26-man squad for UEFA Euro 2008 but there was no place for Hakan Sukur. His omission from Terim's list was the most surprising news given that he played eight times in qualifying.
